LNG tank facility with earth-covered underground container
OUR NEW innovative solution
Advantages:
- lower heating of the medium due to the additional insulation protection of the adjacent soil
- little space required, as the LNG tank is also available in a version that can be driven over
- Existing plots of land can be used without any problems - no additional purchase of expensive plots of land necessary
- Serious cost reduction due to the elimination of foundations, foundations, fencing, collision protection, calculations, evidence, etc.
- larger containers e.g. B. with a volume of 120 m³ are available (note: storage quantity greater than 30 t = formal approval process)
- Container versions can be partially prefabricated and accepted as a MODULE in the factory (installation of the LNG technology in 2-3 dome shafts)
- Reduction of the required assembly effort on site through the assembly production in the factory
- The design of the container fits visually into the overall picture of the filling station in the same way as the underground mineral oil containers
- shorter approval period, fewer requirements, etc. due to underground storage
Disadvantage:
- additional costs for storage of the container
- more complex and expensive production of the earth-covered container design
- buoyancy protection is usually necessary
The LNG plants essentially consist of the following assemblies and equipment:
- LNG storage tanks (standing, lying above ground or underground design)
- Fittings equipment for the LNG tank
- Pump assembly (for the horizontal or for the underground version as a submersible pump variant)
- Saturation assembly - the so-called Satnow system
- LNG dispensers
- TKW transfer station for filling the LNG tank
- Nitrogen tank (LIN) for cooling the LNG (is provided by the customer, e.g. on a rental basis by Linde etc., capacity approx. 6 m³)
- Plant control, safety equipment and active and passive monitoring of the LNG plants
Choosing the tank size for LNG refueling systems:
The basis for an LNG system is always a standing or lying above-ground LNG tank or, as a new innovative design, an underground LNG tank. Due to the currently small number of LNG trucks (low refueling frequency - risk of heating the medium = formation of boil-off gas) and in particular due to the desire for a simplified approval process (storage quantity less than 30 t), a 70 m³ container is used as standard deployed. Taking into account the thermal expansion of the LNG and also the maximum filling limit, a maximum quantity of approx. 25 t can be filled into this container size.
Calculations (which we would be happy to provide on request) have shown that this container size can only be used for a maximum of 30-40 truck refueling processes. For 30 refueling processes z. B. daily 5000 kg LNG taken from the container. This means that the container has to be refilled about every 3-5 days in order not to worry about it being empty (taking into account the logistical problems with the delivery of the medium from Rotterdam and the delivery volume of about 19-20 t in drop shipping). This means that in some cases the use of a larger LNG container, for example a 120 m³ container, makes sense in order to ensure larger reserves in the storage container. It should be noted that this requires a formal approval procedure (more expensive, more complex, more time-consuming).

We offer you a suitability and preliminary examination of your property for the construction of an LNG plant, taking into account the technical, safety-related and legal approval bases (including an on-site visit). Taking into account the suitability and preliminary examination, we prepare the necessary application documents for the construction and approval of the LNG system (including an on-site visit).
On request we will send you a detailed offer for this.
