Mobile extraction and filling system for flammable refrigerants
The decisive factor for the development of an ex-protected evacuation system were the worldwide, alarming GWP values (Global Warming Potential) of synthetic refrigerants such as R134a, R404A, R407C, R410A etc., which are used in millions of refrigeration appliances and systems, as well as the resulting F-Gas Regulation EU 517/2014. A central part of this regulation is the phase down. This will determine how the quantities of HFCs used as refrigerants available on the market will be gradually limited (reduction of the original production quantity to 45% from 2021). As a result, the new highly flammable and combustible refrigerants of safety groups A2L, A2 and A3 are increasingly being used, with the filling and extraction systems previously available on the market not being able to meet the requirements.
For this reason, the company PA Propan & Ammonium Anlagen GmbH developed an evacuation system for refrigerants (Made in Germany) in a development project that meets the legal requirements for explosion protection and ATEX. A conformity assessment according to CE 0045 is also included in the scope of delivery of the assembly. In addition to the A2L and A3 refrigerants such as R290, R1270, R600 and R600a, R170, R1234y, R32, R454B etc., the system can also be used for refrigerants such as ammonia and DME.
